A Wheelersburg man held a suspicious character at gunpoint after a bizarre encounter at a local restaurant.
The man contacted 9-1-1 just after midnight to report that a stranger had shown up at his apartment. He said the man first turned up outside his apartment the night before claiming he went to high school with his girlfriend, saying he wanted to find some weed, and reporting that a friend of his was shot over the weekend.
When the man arrived home the next night just after midnight, the intruder had returned. When the stranger appeared to reach for something in his waistband, the resident drew his gun. The man left on foot.
Police searched the area but could not locate the man.
