William “Bill” Alonzo Runyon Jr., 67 of Rosemount, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
He was born June 3, 1953, in Portsmouth, a son of the late William Alonzo and Norma Jean Burton Runyon Sr.
Bill was a heavy truck Service Manager for Glockner Family of Dealerships, was a Clay Township Trustee for 12 years, and of the Baptist Faith. He had a competitive spirit and loved tinkering with hotrod cars. He dearly loved his family-they were his world.
He is survived by the love of his life, Jeanne Runyon; his daughter, Susan (Daniel) Griffith of Ashland, Ky; two sons, Joseph Runyon and Wesley Nelson Runyon both of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Alaina Stowers and Cassidy Griffith; two brothers, Robert “Bob” (Peggy) Runyon of Lucasville and Andrew (Sandy) Runyon of Wheelersburg; four sisters, Lori Lacy of Midland, NC, Linda Conley of Charlotte, NC, Angie (Gordy) Balkin of Concord, NC, and Mary Jo (Donnie) Whitley of Rosemount; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Uncle Dave Burton, Rick Vournazos, Tom Walker and Nelson Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2021, at the Rubyville Community Church with Calvin Ray Evans and Dr. Joe Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Universal Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. till the funeral hour at the church Monday. Per State of Ohio guidelines, masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed.
