William “Bill” Evans, 81, of Lucasville, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at SOMC Hospice. He was born February 7, 1943 in South Portsmouth, Kentucky, and was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Salyers Evans. Bill was retired from Dayton Walther Foundry, was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, and attended Rubyville Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Lloyd Evans; one sister, Thelma Ruggles of Lucasville; two brothers, Paul Evans of Lucasville, James Evans of Columbus; two children, Gary (Shelly) Evans of Minford, Stacy Thomas of Lucasville; three grandchildren, Allie Thomas (Zachary) of Portsmouth, Julia (Michael) Ervin of Winchester, Logan Swain of Minford, and four great grandchildren, Rhett Robinson, Mason Ervin, Ella Ervin, and a special great granddaughter, Ember Mollett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Talmadge, Johnny, Frank, Kenny Evans, and two sisters, Pearl Lewis, and Nola Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Rubyville Community Church with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be in Rubyville Community Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Dickey Post No. 23 American Legion. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
