William E. Killian II, 74, of Rosemount,  passed away Friday, January 29, 2021, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center from complications of the Covid-19 Virus.
He was born August 30, 1946, at home in Belfast, NY, to the late Flora Cutler Prentice and George Killian. Bill was a member of the National Honor Society, graduating from Belfast Central School in 1964. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969 and you didn’t have to be around Bill very long before he told you about his “beloved Corps”.

He attended Portsmouth Interstate Business College and Shawnee State College. He started delivering mail in Olean, NY, before transferring to Portsmouth in 1974 where he carried mail until 1992 when he retired due to renal failure. Once he recovered from a kidney transplant, he worked at Hart’s in Wheelersburg, Big Bear in Rosemount, Toy Town in New Boston, and Staker’s Drugs in Portsmouth.

He loved the Lord with all his heart, prayed for his family and friends every morning, and hopes to see them again in heaven one day. He was a member of the New Boston First Church of the Nazarene where he served in many capacities over the years – church board member, Sunday School teacher, youth leader, vacation Bible school teacher, choir member, soloist, and worship leader.

Bill was a people person and master of good clean corny jokes. He taught Hunter’s Safety for over 20 years; he loved to hunt, make canes and collect knives and was a member of the William A. Baker, American Legion Post 363.

He is survived by the love of his life, Anna Ashmore Killian, his wife of 41 years and five children-Laura Killian (Dave Brastow), Tracey Killian, Melissa Artis (Scott), Joseph Newman (Alicia), and William Killian III; ten grandchildren, Killian and Wren Brastow, Corran Goodart, Madison Meyers (Josh), Mackensie Whitley, Skylar Artis, Gabriel, and Joey Newman, Isla and Grayson Killian; three great-grandsons, Jaxon, Maddox, and Phoenix Austin.
