Woman Arrested After Reporting Assault
Officers responded to Mabert Road just before 5 pm after a woman reported an assault by her boyfriend. She said the man fled the scene.
Police located the suspect to question but the woman eventually admitted she’d made up the assault story. However, officer discovered she had an open warrants for escape, conveying prohibited items into a jail, and probation violation.
Officers arrested her and booked her into the Scioto County Jail for the 20th time.
Big Bag of Cocaine Left on Car Lot
Employees of Wright Auto Sale contacted police just before 1 am when they made an unusual discovery. When an officer arrived at the scene, he found what appeared to be a large bag of cocaine.
Police impounded the suspected drugs and turned it over to the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force.
Man Arrested After 17th Street Overdose
Just before 11 pm, officers responded to a report of an overdose on 17th Street. Police discovered the man had an open warrant from Lawrence County.
Police transported him to the county line and handed him over to Lawrence County Deputies.
Stranger Kicks in Door of Franklin Avenue Home
A frightening incident at a Franklin Avenue home. Just after 1 am, a man kicked in the door of a home and came inside.
The resident said the man claimed he lived there before taking off. Officers said there was minimal damage to the door and they checked the area for the suspect.
Woman Finds Stranger Asleep in Her Car
A 17th Street woman got a big surprise when she opened her car on Friday morning. She found a man sleeping inside.
She said the guy took off on foot in the direction of Sonora’s. Police said nothing appeared to be missing from the car and they were unable to locate the suspect.
Officers took information for a report.
