Portsmouth Police officers responded to a call at the Scioto County Jail just after 11 pm. A caller said a woman had passed out in a vehicle in the parking lot.
Officers called for an ambulance and impounded the vehicle. The woman was transported to the hospital, and officers went to pick up a urine test kit.
The hospital released the woman, and officers took her into custody on a hold from Ross County.
Needle Confiscated After Another Driver Nods Off in Car
Officers responded to a report of a man nodding out inside a white vehicle in the 1900 block of 7th Street at 1:20 pm.
Police found a man with an unused syringe in the vehicle. They warned the man about the needle and confiscated it for disposal.
Police also issued a citation for an expired tag and impounded the vehicle A tow truck took it away.
