An online stalker has targeted a local woman, and there doesn’t seem to be much anyone can do about it.
A man contacted police at 8:30 am to report a Summit Street man has been harassing his wife for years. The alleged stalker has harassed the woman using multiple phone numbers, social media apps, and websites.
The messages were described as “deranged, vile, and inappropriate.” His wife is acquainted with the man but does not understand why he continues to harass her. The man said he and his wife had already contacted the courts for information on what to do about stalking.
An officer also advised the husband about steps to take against telecommunications harassment and told him to contact the police should the messages turn violent.
The officer also spoke to the wife who was unsure if she wanted to attempt to file charges. Police advised her to seek advice from an attorney and pursue a protection order.
