A fun afternoon at a pool party turned violent after a boyfriend turned on his girlfriend. A woman called 9-1-1 around 3:30 pm to report a domestic violence incident.
Officers headed to the Speedway on County Road 144 and met with a woman they said was bleeding from the mouth.
She told them she’d had too much to drink at a pool party and called her boyfriend to bring her home. She said the boyfriend was angry at her and began yelling at her on the ride home.
The woman said he punched her twice in the face, pulled over, and tried to drag her out of the car. She pulled his shirt off, then he got back in the car and drove a bit more before he started hitting her again.
When she fled from the car, he chased after her and pushed her. The man then attempted to run her over, before driving away.
Police took photos of her injuries and took information for a report. The investigation continues into this incident.
