Just before noon, officers responded to a report of a vicious dog attack at Grant and Grandview.
A 46-year-old woman said she was bit by a dog and was bleeding from her arm. EMS workers tended to the woman while officers looked for the dog and called animal control.
They were unable to find the dog, but animal control said they have dealt with pit bulls running loose from a nearby home recently.
Officers took information for a report.
Loose German Shepherd on the Attack
Deputies responded to Dewey Extension Road in Lucasville around noon after a caller reported that a German Shepherd had escaped a kennel and was now running loose and acting aggressively.
The dog was impeding traffic, jumping on cars, and refusing to let a woman out of her house. A deputy managed to get hold of the dog. She spoke to multiple neighbors, but no one could identify the owner.
Dispatch contacted the humane agent, and a deputy located the owner. The owner agreed to turn over the dog and her puppies to the humane agent.
