Woman Loses Car After Making This Simple Mistake

You’ve heard the saying that ‘Ignorance of the law is not an excuse,’ and a local woman found out just how true it is after she lost her vehicle over a mistake that many people make.

It started just after 4 p.m. when police made a traffic stop and discovered that the driver had a suspended license.

They impounded the vehicle and had it towed. Not too long after, the vehicle’s owner contacted officers extremely upset to find out her vehicle had been towed.

Police explained that’s what happens when you allow someone with a suspended vehicle to drive your car. She claimed she didn’t know the driver’s license was suspended, but officers explained that it’s the duty of the vehicle owner to verify that anyone they allow to drive their car has a license.

At first, she said she didn’t give the driver permission, but then admitted he’d just given her a ride to the doctor’s office and drove the vehicle on a regular basis. Police explained that, unfortunately, she would have to pay to retrieve her vehicle from the tow lot.
