A family argument turned physical when a woman allegedly punched a man in the face, leaving him with a bloody nose. But that wasn’t the end of the confrontation. Deputies say she continued causing problems even after they arrived.
Lawrence County deputies responded to a home on Township Road 1533 after a domestic dispute was reported.
According to the sheriff’s report, the man told deputies that he and the woman had been arguing when she punched him in the face. The deputy observed blood around the man’s nose.
The woman gave deputies a different account, saying the man had been yelling at her and that she had not struck him.
Argument Continues After Deputies Arrive
The deputy reported that the woman became increasingly upset during the investigation and continued yelling at the man.
After reviewing the statements and observing the man’s injury, the deputy decided to arrest the woman on a domestic violence charge.
The report says she initially resisted efforts to place her in handcuffs, pulling away and refusing to cooperate. Deputies eventually secured her and transported her to the Lawrence County Jail.
The sheriff’s report identifies the arrested woman as Addie McKinley.
The report does not indicate that the man was charged.
