Just after 6 pm, witnesses reported a woman sitting in the middle of Back Road in Franklin Furnace. A few minutes later, they called back to say the woman was now lying in the road.
Ten minutes later, a caller said the woman was up and walking.
A deputy searched for her and finally caught up with her around 6:41 pm. An officer gave her a ride to a Portsmouth rehab center and dropped her off around 7:30 pm.
Good job to the deputy that wouldn’t give up. The situation could have ended in tragedy.
