Portsmouth Police Officers discovered a woman taking a nap in an unusual spot.
At 4:41 pm, an officer reported a woman with a backpack lying face down on top of a grave.
When officers caught up with the woman, she said she was just resting. Her feed hurt, but she was otherwise okay.
Overdose on Mabert Road
Just after 8 pm, officers responded to a report of an overdosed woman at Daniels Drive and Mabert Road. The woman was sent to rehab. Officers impounded her vehicle and arranged to have it towed.
Police responded to a report of an overdose in a shed on Vinton Avenue at 5:40 am. By the time officers arrived, the man was alert, so EMS was not needed. Officers contacted Code Enforcement to report individuals living in the shed.
Troubled Homeless Man Transported to Hospital
A troubled homeless man, with whom police have almost daily contact was the subject of a call just before 11 pm on Saturday night.
A caller reported a man on the ground in Tracy Park. The man, who struggles with mental health and substance abuse issues, has been arrested over 60 times. He has a long history of public indecency, intoxication, and disorderly conduct. In recent months he was rushed to the hospital after being found injured on the levy and overdosing.
This time, an ambulance transported him to the hospital for treatment.
