A worried daughter called Portsmouth Police from her home in Kentucky to say her 70-year-old mother seemed to have vanished from SOMC.
She said her mom was in the hospital, but when mom’s pastor went to visit her, she wasn’t there. Further, the hospital said there was no record of the woman being released from the facility.
The pastor went to the woman’s Portsmouth home, but there was no answer at the door. Officers cross-checked the woman’s address with previous EMS runs to check on her. They found the back door propped open, but they got no response when they knocked.
An officer entered the home and searched the residence, but there was no one inside. Police resecured the door and contacted the daughter.
Woman Causes Disturbance at Hospital
Portsmouth Police responded to King’s Daughters’ Hospital after security at the facility said a woman was causing a disturbance.
When officers arrived at the scene, they decided the best course of action would be to just give the woman a ride home.
An officer dropped her off at the 16th Street Apartments.
