Officers responded to a report of an assault against an employee of a local pet store just after 5 pm.
According to a worker at Pet Land, a woman came into the store, pulled her out into the parking lot, and slammed her against her car, putting a dent in the door. Multiple witnesses confirmed those events, and the South Point store’s security cameras caught the incident on video.
The worker said she didn’t realize who the assailant was at first but later recognized the woman as the mother of a friend who claimed she was picking on her daughter. The victim said she’d had a disagreement with the other girl.
Another worker said the woman told her if she didn’t want to get hurt, she’d stay out of the incident.
Deputies took information for a report and advised the woman on how to file for a protection order.
