Worried Dad Asks Cops To Check On Daughter

A worried father contacted Portsmouth Police Officers to check on his five-year-old daughter.

The man told an officer that his ex-wife had not sent the child to pre-school in two days. He was especially concerned because the mom had allowed the child to stay with a known male felon, whom he doesn’t approve of.

An officer responded to the mother’s home to check on the child, but there were no vehicles in the driveway and no answer at the door.

Bizarre Burglary on Waller Street

Portsmouth Police Officers investigated a bizarre burglary on Waller Street and discovered a complicated backstory involving the family of a woman who gave a caretaker her home.

A man contacted police at 10 pm to say he observed a break-in at his Waller Street home on a security camera. He said a woman he recognized and a man he didn’t know entered the house. The woman left, but he was not sure about the man.

When officers arrived on the scene, they didn’t find anyone inside. The homeowner showed them a video of the people entering his home. They could be heard discussing recovering documents from the home.

The man told police the incident stemmed from a dispute over the home. He said he served as a woman’s caretaker and she gave the house and other property to him. Her family was not happy with that decision. He said the woman in the video has an emergency key to the home.

He did not want to have the woman arrested. Police advised him to file a protection order against the woman and to change the locks on the home.
