The worried family of an elderly woman contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office after she began behaving strangely and then disappeared.
The family said the woman had attempted to set her house on fire the previous day and broken many items around the home. The 83-year-old then took her money, jewelry, and other personal items with her and left the scene in a car. The family had not heard from her for 24 hours.
The family said they had checked her usual spots and even checked local hotels. They worried that she might have a weapon with her.
The Sheriff’s Office checked some possible locations for the woman and also issued an alert to surrounding counties to watch for her.
Man Chases Woman’s Vehicle Down Greenbriar Road
A frightened woman contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office just before 2 am to describe a scary situation on Greenbriar Road.
She said an apparently high man came running out of a yard and right at her car near the Swauger Valley end of the road.
She took off, but the man chased her vehicle down the road. Deputies responded to the scene but were unable to locate the man.
Shirtless Man Stumbles Into Road on West Side
Callers reported a shirtless man stumbling around near St. Rte. 73 just before 11 am. Witnesses said the man had fallen into the road several times.
Twenty minutes later, a caller reported the man lying near the road at the 73-104 Split.
Deputies located the man and gave him a ride home.
Girl Threatened in Cat Dispute
Another day, another call involving threats made over a cat. This time a worried mom wanted to speak to an officer about threats her daughter received from an adult man claiming she stole a cat.
However, the child said the cat was neglected and the man had given her permission to take the cat.
The mom said if there were any further issues, she would contact the police.
