Wrong-Way Driver Gets a Warning—Passenger Goes to Jail Instead

wrong way driver

A wrong-way driver call early in the morning didn’t end with a driving arrest—but someone still ended up in handcuffs.

Portsmouth Police responded around 1:20 a.m. after reports of a vehicle traveling the wrong way.

Officers made contact with the vehicle and were given permission to search it.

The driver caught a break, receiving only a warning for the moving violation.

The passenger… not so much.

Officers arrested Dayshawn Parker on a parole violation.

Parker was booked into the Scioto County Jail. He is currently on five years of parole related to a failure to comply case with a firearm specification and is under supervision through the Akron parole office.

A reminder that sometimes it’s not the driver who ends up in trouble—it’s who’s riding along.
