Just before 8 p.m. on Friday, Portsmouth Police received a call about a hit-skip that occurred near the Hilltop Market on Grandview Ave.
Officers were able to obtain the license place information from the fleeing vehicle. The officer let dispatch know that he was heading to the residence said to be located on Rosemount Rd.
On the way to that location, dispatch advised that a father had brought his son to the police station to admit to a recent hit skip on Grandview Ave.
The officer changed course and headed to the police station.
After speaking with the father and son, it was discovered that this was a separate incident on the same street.
The officer now had 2 hit skip investigations on Grandview Ave.
He informed dispatch of the development and continued his investigation into both incidents.
Good on the Dad who made his son fess up and go to the police station. A valuable life lesson he’ll not soon forget.
Just after 9 pm a Scioto County Sheiff’s Deputy informed PPD they had located the first car in Rosemount. This hit skip is now being investigated by both organizations.
