5 Indicted on Drug Charges 

The Scioto County Grand Jury handed down indictments against five people for drug-related offenses during its latest session.  

Jeffrey Jordan, 61, of Otway, is charged with aggravated possession of drugs, possessing drug abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana possession.  Jordan was busted for DUI, probation violation, and driving under a suspended license in July of 2021 and again in February of 2022 for probation violation.  Previous arrests include a charge of parole violation.  

Portsmouth resident Samantha King, 35, is charged with possession of a fentanyl-related compound and aggravated possession of drugs.  King’s previous arrests include receiving stolen property, contempt, DUI, failure to appear, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.  

Also charged with aggravated possession of a fentanyl-related compound and aggravated drug possession is 53-year-old Stanley Blanton of Portsmouth. Blanton was arrested for trafficking in drugs back in September of 2021, which was his 14th visit to the Scioto County Jail. 

Blanton’s previous charges include possession of meth, possession of criminal tools, driving under a suspended license, domestic violence, illegal manufacture of drugs, assault, and multiple warrants from other counties.  

The grand jury also indicted a 28-year-old West Portsmouth Man on multiple drug-related charges. Zachary Wooten is accused of aggravated drug possession, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, and possession of criminal tools.  

Wooten is currently serving a sentence for aggravated possession of drugs at the Scioto County Jail and isn’t expected to be released until February of next year. He’s currently on parole for drug charges. 

Franklin Furnace resident Heather Moore, 22, was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs. Moore was arrested back in April for petty theft by the New Boston Police Department.
