Portsmouth First Responders Save Woman From Overdose
An all too familiar situation for first responders happened just before 1 am. Police and medics from the Portsmouth Fire Department responded when a woman was found unresponsive and not breathing on the floor at a Farley Square Apartment.
Medics from the PFD administered Narcan and revived the woman. However, she refused medical treatment and offers of drug rehab.
Under The Influence
- Just after midnight. Three units responded to the Woodbine Apartments for a report of a shirtless man standing on cars and screaming. Witnesses said the man kept falling over. Officers took him into custody.
- A Grandview Avenue caller reported a woman getting into cars at 1:52 am. The witness said the woman rifled through her vehicle but didn’t take anything. Police arrested the woman for drunk and disorderly and also confiscated a clear baggy containing an unknown substance.
- Police responded to Tim Horton’s at 3:26 am for a report of someone slumped over in a running vehicle at Tim Horton’s. Police took the subject into custody and arranged for the vehicle to be towed.
- At 6:35 am, a Shawnee Apartments resident reported a woman passed out in the community room with the doors locked. The caller said the woman does not live there. The woman left before the police arrived.
- Officers answered a call to the Speedway on Gallia at 5:31 pm, after someone found a bag of marijuana dropped near the door. He kicked it over by the trashcan and called the police. An officer impounded the drugs for disposal.
- PPD responded to Park Apartments for a report of an apparently high man passed out on a bench at 8:36 pm.
- Callers reported an apparently high woman in a vehicle at McDonald’s just before 9 pm. She had a child in the car with her. Officers discovered she had an open warrant through the Sheriff’s Office. Police took her into custody and had the vehicle towed.
