Rainbow Haired Woman Strips Down at Laundromat

A rainbow-haired woman stripped down at the laundromat and a disturbed teen barged right into a frightened stranger’s house. We hit the highlights from the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing.

Late Night Shenanigans

Officers answered a call to JJ’s Shenanigans just after midnight when a woman reported another woman kept hitting her in the head. Police took information for a report and took the woman home.

At 1:35 am, PPD responded to another report of issues at a bar. This time a group of folks fighting in the back of Frank & Steins Lounge. The scuffle had broken up by the time police arrived.

Suspicious Activity

  • A Gallia Street caller contacted police at 2 am to report a tattooed man flashing a light and waving cars down. The man then told the driver to get out of the car. The suspect was last spotted heading west. Police could not locate him.
  • Just after 4 am, someone reported a man passed out in the parking lot at Notre Dame High. Officers took him into custody.
  • A Castle Street caller told police her car caught fire overnight and when she checked her security footage, she saw her neighbor standing by it and then running away shortly before it caught fire. Police told her to contact the Portsmouth Fire Department.
  • Just before noon, a 17th Street caller reported a man dancing in the rain.
  • At 1:31 pm, police had to detain a man at TASER point at the Oasis Convenient Mart. As he already has an open warrant, police took him to jail.

Tracy Park Troubles

  • Officers discovered a woman with an open warrant during a 2:45 am walkthrough of Tracy Park. Police took her into custody and dropped her at the jail.
  • Just after 7 am, police discovered a man on the stage at Tracy Park. They advised him of the law against having alcohol in the park and told him to leave. Police also picked up more trash from the stage.

Under The Influence

  • At 4:35 am, a caller reported a man passed out in a red truck in the parking lot of Big Lots. Police took him into custody and impounded the vehicle.
  • Just before 3 pm, a Wayne Avenue caller reported an apparently high shirtless man outside screaming.
  • PPD responded to an overdose victim inside a vehicle on Gallia at 3:26 pm. The fire department was called to break into the vehicle. The woman refused treatment.
  • A few minutes later a caller reported a man leaning out the window of a vehicle on 3rd Street. They said he appeared to be passed out.
  • A caller reported a man drinking behind the Silver Palace on Gallia at 6 pm. Police said the man was drinking but was not so impaired that he couldn’t take care of himself. Police advised him to dump out his beer and move on.
  • A Jackson Avenue caller reported an apparently high woman just before 7:30 pm. Police said she was slightly intoxicated but able to walk and talk. A friend offered to take care of her.
  • Just after 8:30 pm, a witness reported a man lying on the ground on High Street. Police described him as highly intoxicated. The man admitted to drinking and smoking pot. An ambulance transported him to SOMC and his parents took custody of him there.

Stripping at the Laundromat

Just after 2 pm, a caller reported 2 women stripping off their clothes at the laundromat on 17th Street.

The caller reported a woman with rainbow-colored hair was down to her bra and panties. By the time police arrived, everyone in the area was fully dressed.

Hey, That’s My Stuff

PPD responded to a break-in at Blevins Auto Sales at 7 pm. Someone opened the door, tore off the alarm, and stole a motorcycle. Police took information for a report.
