Three things you need to watch right now
Looking for something to watch? I’ve got three suggestions for things to turn on ASAP. It’s a mix of movies and TV shows from various platforms, ranging from family-friendly to flat-out raunchy. In no particular order:

Good Boys – This movie is about the adventures of three 12-year-old boys but is definitely not for little kids. Like real tweens, the kids use rough language and spout a lot of incorrect information about sex. I refuse to give any spoilers, but when I showed it to some friends, one of them laughed so hard she actually fell off the couch. As raunchy as this flick gets, it has a genuine heart that captures how it really feels to be twelve. Available on DVD, Blu-ray, and for rental from streaming platforms.

The Mandalorian – Yeah, this is the one with Baby Yoda but it is so much more. This 8-episode series is an old-fashioned spaghetti western with a no-name bounty hunter slinging a gun. If you’ve never watched a minute of Star Wars or have watched but didn’t like it, you’ll still enjoy this show. The episodes only run a bit over a 30-minutes each. Not much language or anything in the way of sex but there is a lot of shooting. The musical score is the best thing I’ve heard in forever. The Mandalorian is only available on Disney +. I think it’s worth getting the service for a month just to watch this show.

Bob Hearts Abishola – I’d expected this CBS sitcom to be a typical will-they-or-won’t-they romantic comedy. What I got was a touching family comedy-drama about two lonely middle-aged people who are devoted to their families. A family health crisis plot really packs an emotional wallop for me. It’s my favorite thing on network TV right not. Watch Bob Hearts Abishola on Channel 13 WOWK Mondays at 8:30 pm or at CBS.com or the CBS All Access app.
