A man wanted for parole violation attempted to give Portsmouth Police the slip after they responded to a report of suspicious activity at a vacant home on 6th Street.
Just after 11 pm, a caller asked police to trespass several people from a 6th Street home. The home’s occupants had moved out two days previously, but some people were still hanging around the property.
When officers arrived at the scene, Dustin Morrison went out the window. However, an officer spotted him. Police caught up with him 20 minutes later.
Officers learned he had an open warrant for parole violation and took him into custody. They also advised the other folks in the house to stay out or they could be arrested for criminal trespass.
Police booked Morrison into the Scioto County Jail on charges of obstructing official business, possessing drug abuse instruments, and parole violation. This was Morrison’s 18th arrest.
