Officers Search For Domestic Assault Victim
Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies launched a search for an alleged domestic assault victim after Pike County law enforcement alerted them about an incident just after 1:30 am.
Pike Officials told police a woman called them to say her husband was slapping her and would not let her leave. She originally told them she was in Adams County, but Adams sent the call to SCSO. An Adams County officer said he could hear some type of altercation happening over the phone.
When deputies arrived at the location given, they found a smashed cell phone and learned the couple had left in a vehicle.
Officers issued a BOLO and managed to contact the couple. When police spoke to them, the woman said it was all verbal, her husband had slapped her on the butt, and had refused to allow her to leave because she was intoxicated.
Neither party wanted to file a police report, and officers returned the phone.

When officers arrived on the scene, a man explained that the woman had come to his house and accused him of taking her footwear. He said he invited her in to check for her shoes, and she got loud and disruptive. He then asked her to leave, and she complied.
The woman left before the officers arrived.
