Deputies Search For Missing Foster Kids
Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies joined in the hunt for two missing foster children reported missing from a Portsmouth home on Sunday.
Officers were advised the children were trying to get back to their home in West Virginia. The first possible sighting of the young runaways came in at 1:29 am. Witnesses said they might have seen them near the Speedeemart Sunoco on Center Street. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate them.
At 5 am, a caller reported spotting two children walking near Conley’s on Ohio River Road. Officers checked an empty home in the vicinity without luck, but finally located the children at the Shell Station.
Deputies contacted Portsmouth Police and requested EMS to check the children out. An ambulance transported the children to the hospital, and Portsmouth Police contacted the foster mother to let her know the children had been located.
