Caller Reports 30 Chickens & 16 Dogs in Home
Officers investigated an unusual animal complaint just after 11:30 am. A caller said that there were 30 chickens and 16 dogs inside a home and that the odor was horrible.
The caller said the resident was selling eggs out of the home and that the animals cried all night.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the chickens were kept in a basement, and the coop was clean with no strong odor. All of the dogs were properly licensed.
The homeowner said he cleared his plan with all his neighbors beforehand and did not violate the law.
Pigs, Ponies, & Cows Run Wild
Just after 6pm, a Shirley Road resident complained that the neighbor’s pigs had caused damage to her property. An officer spoke with the pigs’ owner, who promised to put them up.
At 11:15 pm, a caller reported miniature ponies running loose on Crowe Hollow Road. A deputy went to investigate.
Around 8 am, Deputies were called to Tipton Lane for a report of cows in the road. A deputy helped usher them back into their pasture.
At 9 am the next morning, officers returned to Shirley Road for a complaint that the pigs had returned. Deputies once again spoke to the pigs’ owner.
Just before 9 pm, a Carpenter Road caller told officers she thought the neighbors were holding chicken fights. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a family gathering in progress but saw no sight of chicken fighting.
