Caller Reports Man With Gun on 6th Street
Just before 1 pm, a 6th Street caller reported that a man armed with a gun ran into a house.
When officers arrived at the home, they learned the armed man was there to gather his grandfather’s belongings.
The man’s grandfather, who lived in the home, had recently passed, and he was on the lookout for people who’d been breaking into the home. He had identification, and a PPD detective confirmed there had been issues with break-ins at the home.
Officers advised the man to contact him if he needed to return to the home, so they would not mistake him for a burglar.
Suspicious Bicyclists Arrested on 7th Street

When officers arrived on the scene, they learned there were open warrants for both individuals.
Police arrested Lucille Black, 43, for probation violation. This was her fourth trip to the Scioto County Jail. Previous arrests include failure to appear, falsification, and disorderly conduct.
Officers also arrested parolee Jonathan Messer for parole violation. This was his 13th trip to the Scioto County Jail. Messer was released on parole back in September of 2022.
Previous arrests include failure to comply with a police officer, breaking and entering, drug abuse, assault, probation violation, disorderly conduct, DUI, driving with a suspended license, and contempt of court.
Police dropped off the pair’s bike with a friend at their home and transported both to the Scioto County Jail.
