Boot Dispute Leads to Death Threats
Officers responded to a home on St. Rte 73 after a caller told the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office that threats had been made in a dispute over a pair of boots.
The witness said a relative stole a pair of boots from her, and that when she and her son confronted the man about the theft, he threatened to kill him.
Officers discovered that the man who allegedly threatened them had an open warrant through the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. The man was barred from their residence.
Cops Search Lucasville Bottoms for Stolen Lift Chair
Deputies responded to Leading Respiratory in Lucasville for a report that someone stole a lift chair from the medical supply store.
Officers began a search of the Lucasville Bottoms in hopes of locating the item. In addition, they went to Gahm’s to view video that could lead them to the suspects.
Criminals Target Dairy Queen
Officers responded to the Center Street Dairy Queen after the manager reported a suspicious call. She said a caller who claimed to be from the Treasury Department said the business was being investigated for money laundering. The fraudster asked for her name and then related personal information such as her name, address, and husband’s name.
Officers took information for a report. Scams of this type are common and frequently end with people impersonating government officials, extorting money from victims, or tricking them into transferring business funds into foreign accounts. Fortunately, in this case, no accounts were accessed.
More trouble at the Dairy Queen later in the afternoon after the restaurant reported that a female customer was threatening employees. A deputy responded to the restaurant and barred the woman from the property.
Desperate Search for Troubled Man
Officers launched a desperate search for a troubled man after a caller reported that a suicidal intoxicated man with a knife was headed toward the cemetery on Martin Cemetery Road with the intention of harming himself.
Officers caught up with the man at Sedan Crabtree and Mercer Cox Roads and sent for an ambulance to take the troubled individual for medical treatment.
