Man Served with 26-year-old Warrant
The long arm of the law will catch up with you, even if it takes some time.
Officers pulled a driver with a Florida license over on 4th Street for a traffic violation and discovered they had an open warrant from Portsmouth Municipal Court – from 1997!
Officers picked up the warrant and served the driver.
Backyard Camper Reports Homeowners
An upset man who was currently living in a tent in someone’s backyard contacted officers to report an incident on Sunday evening.
He said the homeowners had accused him of stealing when they had actually stolen items from tent he was living in.
The homeowners said they spotted the guy on video hanging around their house and they told him to stay away from the home. The homeowners said the items he claimed were stolen were actually cleaned up while he was away because of multiple complaints from the Health Department and Litter Control.
The man called for a ride and agreed to leave.
