Hero Taco Bell Employee Spots Drugged Up Driver
An eagle-eyed Taco Bell employee spotted an impaired driver going through the drive-thru line just before 10 pm.
When officers responded to the scene, they took a man into custody and arrested him for possession of drugs. Police impounded his vehicle and arranged to have it towed.
Residents Evacuated After Gas Line Hit
Workers on Harding Avenue hit a gas line just after 10 am. Dispatch notified Columbia Gas, and Portsmouth City Services barricaded the street while officers evacuated nearby residents.
The gas company shut off the gas and went door to door to check gas levels in nearby houses.
Mercedes Swiped From Kentland Avenue
At 1 pm, a woman contacted PPD to report her Mercedes stolen from Kentland Avenue.
She said she’d last seen the vehicle 15 minutes earlier and believed she knew who had taken it. Officers noted one of the suspects had an open warrant for his arrest.
Police took a grand theft auto report.
