Breaking Emergency Evacuation of Adams County Jail
In response to a possible fentanyl exposure, at around 9:25 pm on Friday, the Adams County Jail was swiftly evacuated. A number of employees and inmates have received medical treatment, although there have not been any reports of serious injuries.
An environmental crew has been dispatched to the facility for prompt remediation of the contamination. All parties involved are being monitored to ensure they remain safe and well.
All 55 inmates have been temporarily housed at the West Union Fire Department. Government officials in Adams County are determined to maintain the safety and welfare of those impacted.
Due to these developments, Adams County residents are advised to take additional precautions and secure their property. The Fire Department is not a secured jail and there are security concerns for the public.
Adams County residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and cooperative during this uncertain time.
