Officers investigated a boot burglar caught in the act after a resident called in a burglary in the process.
When Lawrence County Deputies arrived at the home, a young man told them a woman had just run out of the back of the home. He told police the woman had come into the home without permission and started going through his mother’s bedroom. When he told the woman, who was his mother’s former girlfriend, to get out of the house, she grabbed a pair of red cowboy boots and took off out the back door. Officers learned the woman used to live in the home but hadn’t been a resident for more than a year.
Officers searched for the woman and found her parked nearby, wearing the red cowboy boots. The woman said she had been in the house but had permission. However, when police spoke to the woman who lived there, she told them she hadn’t given the woman permission to go in.
The woman said she would look through her bedroom to see if anything else was missing. Officers took statements and photographed the scene.
