We’ve got another candidate for the world’s worst boyfriend after an incident in Chesapeake.
Officers were on their way to a report of a man on a bicycle arguing with a woman when they got a call from a woman saying the same man had assaulted her and that he had a gun.
When deputies got to the scene, she said her live-in boyfriend hit her in the head because he thought she was stealing his dirty clothes. She said he tried to run her over with a truck, hit her in the face, and threatened to kill her cats before physically throwing her out of their residence.
Additionally, she said he took a wallet with her Social Security and Food Stamp cards as well as a backpack containing her jewelry.
Officers checked the home for the man and photographed the marks on the woman’s face. They later caught up with the man at another home and took him into custody.
They retrieved the woman’s wallet but not the food stamp card. The man claimed the card was in both of their names, and the woman had been selling it to people. Officers booked the man into the Lawrence County Jail for domestic violence and notified the woman that they had retrieved her wallet.
