A woman contacted Scioto County Sherrif’s Deputies to ask for help evicting a homeless man who had been living in her shed. She told officers she caught the man stealing and wanted him gone.
When officers arrived at the Mittendorf Avenue home, she told them he’d been living in the shed for a year, but when she asked him to leave, he’d taken several items belonging to her with him.
Officers discovered the man had open warrants for probation violation. Police caught up with him in a field behind the Dollar General in South Webster and took him into custody.
He asked if the woman who’d given him the boot could lock up his truck and pick up his dogs. She agreed to take the dogs, but warned him to stay off the property.
Deputies booked him into the Scioto County Jail for probation violation.
