AEP Responds to Coronavirus
In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, many companies have provided responses laying out how their business will proceed in the coming weeks. The electric company AEP Ohio recently released its response to the public.
In this response article, AEP made it clear that they will continue to provide their customers with power throughout the entirety of this crisis. They also stated their commitment to the health and safety of their employees and customers.
One of the measures the company is taking to help provide relief to customers affected by the pandemic is suspending disconnections for non-payment. This means that if a customer is unable to pay during the pandemic, their power will not be disconnected.
The company encourages customers to contact them if they will be unable to pay their bills during this time. Payment plans can be arranged by contacting AEP at (800) 672-2231.
AEP’s response also says that the company is committed to workplace safety and is following the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control. They are encouraging employees to work from home and are taking preventative measures to minimize field employees and lineworkers’ exposure to the virus since these workers are critical to the process of keeping power lines functioning properly.
