Cleveland Clinic employees contacted Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies after they said a local patient had threatened to end her life.
When deputies went to investigate, they learned the woman and her husband had driven to the hospital the day before and waited five hours in the ER for a refill of medication. However, the ER refused to fill it and could not contact her doctor.
When the hospital called to follow up, the woman made the statement about wanting to end her life and hung up on them.
Officers learned the woman was in bed resting and had made the statement because she was upset.
