An angry mom told deputies that her daughter was taken out of school and forced to undergo a dental procedure the mother knew nothing about. She said her daughter was taken from the school on a bus to the Rock Hill Family Medical Center and told she had an appointment.
Employees took the child to a dentist’s office and began to clean her teeth. After the dentist looked at the child’s teeth, they began to do a procedure that involved needles, sticks, and drilling. The child insisted she didn’t want the procedure, but they went ahead anyway despite not having permission from the mother.
When the mom called the school, they said the girl was on a list provided by the medical center of children with appointments. When she contacted the medical center, they told her they still had old paperwork from two years ago that listed someone else as the child’s guardian despite the mother having regained custody in June of 2024. The facility had apparently texted the previous guardian about the appointment.
The mom said she had no knowledge of any appointment, and now the child was terrified to go to school because she was told the dentist’s office would be pulling her tooth the next time she was in.
Officers took information for a report.
