Andrew Joseph Bihl, 81, died January 9, 2024, in Palm Harbor, FL. He was the son of Edward and Mildred Turner Bihl of Wheelersburg, OH.
Joe leaves behind his wife, Melanie (Kinney) Bihl, a son, Adam Joel (Lisa) Bihl of Mansfield, OH, daughters Beth Anne Bihl of Southfield, MI, Kristi Marie Sanfrey of Fort Wayne, IN, and step-daughters, Sara (Andrew) Smiddy of Maryville, TN, Erika (Stephen) Henry of Wheelersburg, OH, and Katie (Ryan) Peters of Grove City, OH, as well as sisters Mary Lou (Joe) Barry of Exford, OH and Barbara Ann Rhees of Ormond Beach, FL. Joe had 16 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James Russell Bihl, and his son Andrew J. Bihl II.
Joe graduated from Wheelersburg High School in the class of 1960 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Real Estate at Hondros College in Columbus, OH. He owned and operated Bihl Farms in Wheelersburg for many years. Local residents have fond memories of working in the fields there and picking strawberries. Later in life Joe held positions in insurance, sales, and real estate. His favorite community service activities were Lion’s Club, 4-H, and mentoring/tutoring at Wheelersburg Elementary.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Wheelersburg with burial to follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive visitors there one hour prior to services. Funeral arrangements are being handled by D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg.
