Ann Bartlett Truitt, 92, of Waverly, a longtime Portsmouth resident, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her home in Bristol Village. She was born on September 5, 1932, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Norman Harry and Gladys Louise Kidwell Bartlett.
Ann retired as manager of the Scioto County Bureau of Employment Services and was a 1950 graduate of Portsmouth High School. A devout Christian, she attended Christ’s Community Church. Ann was a former Meals on Wheels volunteer, and she enjoyed traveling with her late husband, including spending winters in Venice Beach, FL. She immersed herself in the Bristol Village community upon her move there, playing bridge and socializing with the other residents.
On April 17, 1954, Ann married Edward Warren ‘Ted’ Truitt, in Portsmouth. The couple had been united in marriage for 57 years prior to his passing on June 22, 2011.
Surviving is her son, Craig Alan (Cathy) Truitt of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Blake E. Truitt and Blair E. (Isaac Steele) Truitt; and three great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Rowan and Remi.
Ann was also preceded in death by a son, Warren Dean Truitt; and three siblings, Jack Walter Bartlett, Charles Owen ‘Chubb’ Bartlett and Norma Jean Grashel.
The family extends sincere thanks to Ann’s compassionate caregiver at Bristol Village, Tammy Alderman, and all the wonderful nurses who cared for her.
Private services will be held under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
