Bad Babysitter Lets Kids Throw Beer Bottles
Just after 8 pm, officers responded to reports of kids drinking and throwing beer bottles into the street.
When police responded to the scene, they discovered that a babysitter, who was over 21, was the only person drinking. However, he was looking after his nephew and some friends, and one of the kids admitted to throwing a bottle onto the sidewalk in front of the home.
Police advised them to clean up the glass and stop throwing bottles.
Under the Influence at Dollar General
Police responded to the Dollar General in Sciotoville after witnesses reported an apparently high woman in the parking lot.
Officers took the woman and a man into custody and arranged for her to be checked out by a medic. It turned out she had open warrants out of Pike County, so they transported her to the county line to be served and then back to Portsmouth to be booked into the Scioto County Jail.
They impounded some items from the man and also booked him into the Scioto County Jail.
Thief Caught in the Act at Goodwill
Just before 2 am, witnesses reported a thief inside the fence at Goodwill stealing items.
Officers responded to the scene and detained the man. However, Goodwill employees said they did not want to press charges this time but would if the person came back.
Police advised the man he would be charged the next time he was caught on the property.
