Bad Boyfriend Boosts Smokes, Flees to Underpass
An angry woman flagged down police at 12:21 am to report her boyfriend had taken her money and cigarettes and the hoofed it to hideout under the Young Street Underpass.
Officers caught up with the suspect a few minutes later. The man admitted to taking the cigarettes but denied stealing the money. He allowed officers to search him, and they didn’t find any cash.
Police attempted to locate the woman to return her cigarettes but could not locate her.
Woman Screams in Road on Pleasant Avenue
The Ohio State Patrol relayed a report of a woman standing in the road at Pleasant and Harrisonville screaming and yelling.
Officers caught up with the woman at Harrisonville and Oak and advised her to stay out of the road.
Cops Come to Aid of Worried Mom
Moms never stop worrying, even when they’re 82 and their son is 51. Officers spoke with a worried mother on Wednesday afternoon. She was concerned about the welfare of her 51-year-old son who had been ill. She hadn’t been able to contact him.
She told officers the neighbor had a key to his house if they needed it. An officer spoke to the son. He was fine and promised that he would call his mother.
Wanted Woman Flags Down Cars on Grandview
Just before 4 pm, witnesses reported a woman attempting to flag down cars and going up to their doors in an attempt to get a ride.
When officers caught up with the woman, they discovered she had an open warrant through the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
Fire Department medics checked her out and decided it would be best to transport her to the hospital.
Body Discovered on Kentland Avenue
A tragic end to a request for a welfare check on Kentland Avenue. A worried sister asked the police to check on the welfare of her brother. She said he had health issues, and no one had been able to contact him for a week.
Officers met her outside the residence and entered the property. Medics from the Portsmouth Fire Department confirmed the man was deceased.
Officers contacted the coroner, who released the man to a local funeral home.
