When Portsmouth Police spotted a wanted man with an open felony warrant on 6th Street, they told him to stop where he was—but instead of cooperating, he made a terrible choice.
The man bolted into a house, thinking he could outrun the law. When officers knocked, a woman answered the door, trying to play it cool. But there was one problem—police could clearly see the fugitive standing at the back of the house!
The woman eventually let officers inside, but it was too late for both of them.
Police arrested Paul Smith for possession of cocaine and obstructing official business. His alleged accomplice, Regina Smith, was also booked for 2 counts of obstructing justice. Now, instead of just one person facing charges, both are behind bars at the Scioto County Jail.
WHY RUNNING FROM POLICE IS A TERRIBLE IDEA 🚔
Thinking about making a break for it? Here’s why you shouldn’t:
You won’t outrun the law—police have radios, backup, and legal authority on their side.
Running only adds more charges—what could have been a simple arrest turns into multiple criminal charges.
Helping a fugitive = you’re a fugitive, too! If you hide or lie for someone, expect handcuffs in your future.
Judges don’t like runners—courts hand out harsher sentences to those who resist arrest.
Moral of the story? Face the music and don’t drag others down with you! 🎭
