Officers were called in to mediate a dispute between two neighbors that had gotten to the point where one man was flinging flowerpots.
A deputy responded to County Road 119 after a man said a neighbor had picked up a brick and thrown it in his yard. When the Lawrence County officer arrived at the home, the man said a neighbor who was not welcome came onto his property. He said he advised the man to leave multiple times.
The man said the neighbor accused him of bothering his son, who lived next door, and planned to tear stuff up every time he came there. The man then drove back to the end of his driveway and got out of his truck. He picked up a cinderblock and threw it out of the way, then picked up a flowerpot and threw it, causing it to break.
The officer took photos of the cinderblock and broken flowerpot, then went looking for the angry neighbor. He was unable to make contact with anyone at the home.
The neighbor came into the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office the next day to report that the man who filed the original complaint had come onto his property and opened his water meter. He said the man kept coming over to his house trying to instigate problems and that the prosecutor’s office advised him to file a report.
