A Chillicothe man attempted to expand the offerings in the bakery department at the Jackson Kroger to more than bread, cupcakes, and muffins last week. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says he sold an undercover cop some crystal meth, right in the middle of the store, on Sunday afternoon.
The suspected crystal methamphetamine trafficker is Marcus A. Bowman, a 25-year-old Chillicothe man. After making the sale, he left the store and hopped into a gray Dodge Dart to leave. Unfortunately for Bowman, officers were waiting to arrest him. He did not go quietly. Officers say he failed to follow orders to leave the vehicle and was observed putting his hands all around the front seat of the car. Officers had to drag him out of the vehicle.
Once they were able to search the car, they found something very interesting and potentially dangerous inside, a large knife with a fixed blade that was near the driver’s seat.
Also found in the vehicle, a set of digital scales and trace amounts of what police believe to be methamphetamine.
Bowman, along with three passengers, were taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility for questioning. He’s been charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine which is a third-degree felony. The evidence is being sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation for analysis and the case has been forwarded to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.
