Portsmouth Police responded to the Columbia Theater on Gallia Street after multiple people reported a large group of men fighting in the street around 1:20 am. Witnesses said they were fighting with brass knuckles.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an injured man and blood on the sidewalk. PPD also impounded some .22 caliber bullets. However, they had not been fired. An ambulance treated the injured man.
At the same time, callers reported a woman waving a knife and screaming in the 1200 block of Chillicothe. Officers searched for the woman but could not locate her.
About twenty minutes later, callers reported two drunk men brawling at Speedway. Officers sent for an ambulance to treat an injured man for a cut to his head.
