Body Discovered on Walnut Street
The coroner was called to the scene to investigate an apparent overdose after a tragic discovery on Walnut Street on Sunday afternoon.
A woman contacted police to report she’d found her boyfriend unresponsive and apparently deceased just after 4 pm.
Officers responded to the scene, and the coroner was dispatched to investigate. Officers assisted the coroner’s office in the investigation and notified the next of kin.
Grandma Takes Emergency Custody of Toddler
Police stood by while a grandmother took emergency custody of her 3-year-old grandchild just after 4 pm. The woman had obtained an emergency custody order from the court.
Officers observed as the mother handed over the child to the grandmother. Police noted the mother was quite upset, but she did provide the grandmother with clothing and a car seat to transport the child.
Officers advised the woman on what she needed to do to contest the order in court.
Vapers Make Salvation Army Bus Riders Sick
Just after 11:30 am, police received a report from the Salvation Army about an incident during a bus trip to Cincinnati.
When a group traveled by bus to Cincinnati to see a concert, two kids were caught vaping on the bus, and the fumes made other passengers on the bus ill.
The worker told police she had also informed the parents of the vapers to notify them about the incident.
Grand Theft Auto at Hudson House
Someone stole a white Dodge van from the parking lot of Hudson house on Saturday morning.
The 2004 GMC van had painted windows and sported temporary tags from Mike’s Auto Sales. Officers took information for a report.
Man Causes Disturbance at Homeless Shelter
Officers responded to the 8th Street Homeless Shelter after witnesses reported that an intoxicated client was causing a disturbance.
When officers arrived on the scene, they sent for an ambulance. The man requested treatment for his chronic alcoholism. An ambulance transported him to SOMC.
Confused Woman Dropped off at Homeless Shelter
Officers came to the aid of a woman in distress just before 11 pm. A Dorman Drive caller reported a confused woman on their porch.
Officers caught up with the woman at 25th and Grandview and gave her a ride to the 17th Street Homeless Shelter.
