In the early hours of Thursday morning, law enforcement authorities responded to a distressing 911 call reporting a shooting incident in West Portsmouth. The situation occurred just after midnight, prompting a swift response from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
After arriving at Weaver’s Gas Station on State Route 73 and Dry Run, multiple deputies immediately responded they found the victim. Family members took the victim to the gas station so that he could be transported to the hospital more quickly.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at Weaver’s Gas Station in West Portsmouth, providing critical aid and medical assistance to the 43-year-old male shooting victim, whose identity has yet to be officially confirmed. The severity of his injuries remains undisclosed at this time.
The deputies visited the residence where the shooting occurred to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged crime. Noticing the presence of security cameras, they sought to retrieve potential video evidence.

Several vehicles and a motorcycle present at the location were also thoroughly checked for license plates and VIN numbers. One female individual remained in the custody of a second deputy inside a patrol car during the initial inspection.
During their communication with the 911 dispatcher, deputies were informed of a previous visit to the same location a few hours prior. She requested that the deputy contact her regarding the prior visit in hopes of providing more context.
After a two-hour investigation on the scene, one male suspect was taken into custody for questioning. Simultaneously, another deputy proceeded to Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC) to take a juvenile into custody for questioning.
SCDN sent a written request for the call logs to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. Currently, no official word has been issued regarding this incident.
