1 Brutal Pit Bull Attack on Railroad Hollow Road
A horrifying Christmas Day incident on Railroad Hollow Road. Just after 3:30 pm, residents called to report that two pit bulls had come onto their property and attacked their animals.
The dogs had already killed their goat and were now going after the horses. Deputies contacted the Dog Warden who told them she couldn’t do much since she only had a pole and deputies had more authority. However, deputies explained that since the dogs were attacking animals and not humans, it was under the dog warden’s authority.
Deputies and the Dog Warden eventually responded to the call. The dogs were not on the scene, but when deputies headed to the home of the alleged owner, they found a white pit bull with blood on its face. The owners of the animals were not home.
2 Shots Fired at Dog
Deputies responded to West Portsmouth after a caller said someone was shooting at a female dog because it was in heat.
The caller was on the way to rescue the animal but wanted a deputy on the scene. A deputy stood by while the rescuer took possession of the dog.
