1. Burglar Gets Smacked With Baseball Bat
A Portsmouth resident found themselves face-to-face with an unexpected intruder inside their home.
Just before 8 am, a 20th Street caller reported finding a man inside their home. The man hit the burglar with a baseball bat, and the man fled on foot toward Kinneys Lane.
Officers collected the would-be burglar’s bicycle and impounded several other items. Police took information for a report.
2. Drugs & Fireworks on Sterling Avenue
A Sciotoville resident contacted PPD to report issues at two homes on Sterling Avenue. He said there was heavy drug activity at both houses.
Additionally, he said kids were setting off fireworks and that he was constantly finding needles in front of the homes.
3. Passed Out Behind the Wheel on Chillicothe Street
Just after midnight, a caller reported a woman passed out in a red car in the alley behind Frank & Steins Lounge. The caller said the woman had her foot on the brake of the vehicle.
Police took the woman into custody and sent for a tow truck to reprove her vehicle.
